Lightning Preservation Group
Twilight Run 2013
With the memories of summer and the airshow season now seemingly far behind us, there is not much for the aviation enthusiast to look forward to in winter. However, into this time of cold long dark nights the Lightning Preservation Group comes to the rescue. On 9 November 2013 the Group again held one of their popular Twilight Runs. As usual a large crowd were entertained to static reheat engine runs and a fast taxy by Lightning F.6 XS904. Following on from the run there was the opportunity to take night photographs at the Q Shed. There a few places where the atmosphere of a Cold War RAF airfield can be recreated, but the LPG are certainly getting the subject down to a fine art.
